Super Falcons head coach, Justine Madugu, has shared an encouraging update regarding the injuries of Ashleigh Plumptre and Chioma Okafor.
Plumptre was absent from training on Sunday, leading to concerns that she might not participate in Nigeria’s crucial semi-final match against Banyana Banyana from South Africa.
The defender has represented Nigeria three times in the ongoing 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations taking place in Morocco.
In contrast, Okafor has yet to make her debut for the nine-time champions in this tournament.
Madugu confirmed that both players are fit for selection.
“There are no concerns regarding Ashleigh; it is merely a precautionary measure. There are no issues or problems whatsoever. As for Okafor, we will evaluate her condition and determine how we might provide her with an opportunity if necessary,” Madugu stated during a press conference.
