WAFCON 2024: Algeria's Victory Over Botswana Keeps the Super Falcons at the top of Group B.

WAFCON 2024: The Super Falcons maintain their position at the top of Group B following Algeria's victory over Botswana. Nigeria concluded the initial round of group matches in the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations at the forefront of Group B. This outcome is a result of Algeria's slim 1-0 triumph against Botswana on Sunday. Ghoutia Karchouni’s goal in the 10th minute was decisive for the North African team. Algeria is set to face Tunisia in their second group match on July 10. Earlier on Sunday, the Tunisians suffered a heavy defeat, losing 3-0 to a formidable Super Falcons team. Asisat Oshoala, Rinsola Babajide, and Chiwendu Ihezuo each found the net for the nine-time champions. As a result of these matches, the Falcons have secured three points, boasting a better goal difference than Algeria. Botswana is currently in third place, while Tunisia sits at the bottom.
