Former Governor of Abia State and Senator for Abia North, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has conveyed his profound grief regarding the passing of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who died this afternoon in a London clinic.
In a statement released to the press on Sunday, Senator Kalu characterized the deceased President as a patriot who devoted his life to serving Nigeria, leaving a legacy marked by discipline, integrity, and commitment to the nation.
"I am profoundly saddened by the demise of our former President Muhammadu Buhari. He was a man of honor, humility, and selflessness. His contributions to Nigeria's development and unity, particularly in enhancing our national infrastructure, will always be remembered," Kalu remarked.
On behalf of the constituents of Abia North, Senator Kalu offered heartfelt condolences to the residents of Daura, the Daura emirate, the government and citizens of Katsina State, as well as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, encouraging them to find comfort in the significant life that Buhari led.
He prayed for God's mercy to grant Buhari eternal rest, while also asking for divine strength for the family and the nation to endure this tremendous loss.
