Governor Hope Uzodinma Explains Why Tinted Glasses Were Prohibited for Commercial Drivers in Imo.

Governor Hope Uzodimma has announced a 72-hour deadline for owners of commercial vehicles with tinted windows in Imo State to remove them. In a statement released on Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Oguwuike Nwachukwu, the governor instructed security forces to apprehend anyone who does not adhere to this order after the deadline expires. The statement clarified that this crackdown on commercial vehicles is a response to their alleged involvement in criminal activities, including kidnapping, armed robbery, and hit-and-run incidents within the state. It stated, 'Governor Hope Uzodimma has sanctioned the enforcement against all tinted vehicles utilized for commercial purposes in the state, following reports linking them to criminal offenses. In particular, commercial buses with tinted windows have been associated with crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, and hit-and-run incidents.' To address the escalating crime rate, Uzodimma has mandated security agencies to collaborate with designated government officials to implement this directive. Those who do not comply within the three-day grace period will face prosecution.
