The man, who was holding a microphone, was singing praises while his wife danced happily beside him. However, the atmosphere shifted dramatically when he unexpectedly fell to the ground mid-performance. Moments before his collapse, he was seen whispering to his wife and gesturing as if requesting water. Shortly thereafter, he collapsed at the Christ Apostolic Church in Lagos.
Witnesses at the scene hurried to assist him, but he was pronounced dead shortly after. The distressing video has since gone viral, eliciting a wave of grief and sympathy online. According to a source, the deceased, a well-known hotelier named Mr. A O Akinyele, collapsed during his wife's 60th birthday celebration at an event center. Mr. Akinyele was leading a song on stage when he suddenly fell. Despite efforts to revive him, he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. His wife, Mrs. Catherine Akinyele, and other guests were in high spirits on stage when he signaled to her to whisper something in her ear, indicating he needed water. As soon as she left, he collapsed. The family is now in mourning. As part of the celebration, Mr. Akinyele had unveiled a brand new Toyota Highlander he purchased for his wife at the event. A very kind man has tragically passed away.
